February Favourites, Illustrated.

What I Wore Most This February, In Drawings

Because it’s #meetthemaker month here is another entry for my hand drawn illustrated fashion diary, where I draw my personal fashion, food and overall favourites.

It was hard to sum up my February favourites in one drawing because we went from freezing cold and snow, to super sunny spring weather, back to freezing cold again the whole month. I’m not complaining because I loved the snow and I definitely enjoyed the first warm days. Kayak season is open! Picnic season as well, although that’s open all year for me. I also did a few more cold water dips in the river, Wim Hof style, and plan to do many more.

For this illustration I chose my “in between weather” favourites: Levi’s ribcage jeans, a cute bohemian shirt and my Ugg boots, that are perfect for quickly getting my feet warm after being in the cold water. Plus one of my favourite vintage bags and my favourite face mask.

I could also have included my mittens, beanie hat, bikini and sandals, because I also wore all of those several times last month. You might see them in a March recap. 😉

As you can tell, despite the lockdown and evening clock, I had a lot of fun in nature. In, on and near the water and picnicking and hiking. I hope March will bring more of the same.

Wishing you a happy & healthy month as well!💚

Hello March 2021! (In Drawings)

March Illustrated Calendar Page

Hello March! A new month, as always, means a new calendar page. This is the illustration from the March page on my 2021 wall calendar. I went for cute and comfy knitwear layers, paired with my favorite blue mom jeans and red Dr. Martens boots. I also added tea, chocolate and plants for extra coziness. And since we’re still in lockdown and we have an evening clock between 21h and 4:30 there’s a lot of time for reading books, creative projects and watching Netflix.

Does this match your plans or mood for the new month? We’ve had such a sunny week that this drawing feels very wintery now, but I know in many places it’s still very cold.

Hello February! (In Drawings)

February Style Inspiration, Illustrated.

A new month still means a new calendar page, even though this page will probably stay pretty empty since we’re still in lockdown here. I guess I could start marking what I watched on Netflix on it…🤔

Hopefully by the end of this month things will have changed for the better and I can finally start filling up this calendar. In the meantime I will just make the best of it and enjoy a lot of chilling at home time.💚 Do you have exciting plans for February or are you also still stuck at home?

Let’s Cuddle Up, Illustrated.

National Cuddle Up Day, In Drawings

It’s National Cuddle Up Day today and I’ve updated one of my Best Nine illustrations of 2020 with this day in mind.
The Dutch weather is perfect for cuddling up under a blanket at the moment, it’s so cold! So, put on something warm & comfy (2020 has been the year I embraced sweatpants!) and cuddle up. If you don’t have anyone to cuddle with, remember that plant love is also real love. I REALLY love my plants, so who’s to say that my plants don’t also really love me?? I choose to believe they do, haha. Oh, and also: real cuddles will be making a comeback soon! Have a nice day!

If this drawing is giving you all sorts of happy and cozy feelings, I have a very similar illustration available on a postcard on Etsy.

Celebrate Little Things, In Drawings.

Celebrate Whatever You Can!

The Holidays are over but there’s no reason to stop celebrating small things. It’s been a tough year and we should be kind to ourselves. You survived 2020: well done! Put on pants today? That’s awesome! Checked in on a friend? You deserve extra karma points for that! Feel like you didn’t do anything worth celebrating today? Remember you are still awesome and it’s okay and normal to feel bad sometimes! 💚 Hopefully this drawing can serve as a little positive reminder. It was one of my best nine for 2020 on Instagram, and I updated it a little bit for 2021.

Hej! Scandinavian Style, Illustrated.

Scandinavian Winter Style, In Drawings.

Scandinavian-winter-style-inspired illustration, because French style is not the only style I’m obsessed with..

I love the simple, practical yet elegant fashion that Scandinavians are known for. They really know how to dress well for the cold. I often think of their famous saying: “There is no bad weather, only bad clothes” when I feel like staying inside because of bad weather. It really motivates me to go outside anyway.

Little Things That Make Me Happy

Finding Joy In The Little Things, In Drawings.

Just a cute little drawing of a few small things that make me happy. I could just have easily gone for “Big things that make me very sad and worried” at the moment, but I chose not to do that. Have a good and safe day! 💚
