Sunny February Days, Illustrated.

What I Wore In February, In Drawings.

I was working on several wintery illustrations and then it was suddenly spring! One of the things I love about freelance life is that I can be flexible with my hours. So today, to fully take advantage of the sunny weather, I took half the day off for a long hike and a sunset picnic. I do have to work late now, but since we have an evening clock at the moment, I don’t mind so much.🥖🍷

The illustration above is a recap of my day, as part of my ongoing illustrated fashion diary/what I wore series. When I do these I always like to look back at the same time from the previous year. Here‘s and example from February last year.

Celebrate Little Things, In Drawings.

Celebrate Whatever You Can!

The Holidays are over but there’s no reason to stop celebrating small things. It’s been a tough year and we should be kind to ourselves. You survived 2020: well done! Put on pants today? That’s awesome! Checked in on a friend? You deserve extra karma points for that! Feel like you didn’t do anything worth celebrating today? Remember you are still awesome and it’s okay and normal to feel bad sometimes! 💚 Hopefully this drawing can serve as a little positive reminder. It was one of my best nine for 2020 on Instagram, and I updated it a little bit for 2021.

November Faves So Far, In Drawings.

Things To Enjoy In November, If You Ask Me.

My November favourites, so far. The weather has been so nice here. I’m going on regular hikes with lovely sunny picnic breaks. I’m also enjoying chestnut picking (very relaxing!) and chestnut eating. I hope you are also enjoying your autumn. Take care!💚

Summer Days, In Drawings.

Summer Days Style, Illustrated Recap.

I made this one in 2016 and I still own and use all the items on here. I’m trying to buy less stuff and it shows even in my drawings! ☺️ I hope you’re enjoying your summer as well, in the best way possible at the moment.💚

After Lockdown Picnic!

Happy International Picnic Day! I know not everyone can do this safely at the moment and I feel very lucky to live in a place where I can enjoy one of my favorite summer activities again. I hope the same will be true for everyone soon.💚

Celebrate Whatever!

Happy Today! I often use special days or fun holidays as inspiration for my drawings, but you really don’t need a special day or achievement to celebrate. At the moment even ordinary things can feel like a real challenge, like putting on pants or going to the supermarket. So today, be kind to yourself and celebrate the small things. It’s a day and you’re still awesome! (Even if it sometimes doesn’t feel like that.)

2019 favourites!

The end of December is a great time to look back at the past year. These are some of the things that I enjoyed most in 2019. I hope you enjoy taking a look at them too! 😉

PS. The bag is from Booming Bags. It’s handmade, Fair Trade and made from leftover materials.

Organic & Local Food, In Drawings.

Organic And Local Products, Illustrated.

Recently I was asked to illustrate and design a postcard for Gedeelde Weelde, my city’s local food cooperative & café for  daily groceries. The name of the shop means shared wealth in Dutch and all their products are local, fair trade, organic or sustainable. I filled the card with cute, hand drawn food and drink items, and it’s available for sale there. You can also find a selection of my other illustrated cards in this lovely shop. Be sure to pay it a visit if you’re ever in Maastricht!

Hello!

Meet The Maker: A Little Bit About Me.

Today is World Hello Day and I though this would be a good day for me to say hello, and tell you a little bit about myself for those of you who are new here. In the form of an illustration, of course 😉  The book you see is The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho, one of my all time favourites.

Throwback August Style

This is the illustration for the August page on my birthday calendar.  It’s an older one but still pretty close to my IRL beach/picnic look today.
