What I Wore, Then & Now, Part 2.

What I Wore (In Drawings) And How I Wear It Now. Part 2.

I thought it would be fun to take and older What I Wore drawing, and update it to how I wear it now. Because, believe it or not, I still own many of the pieces I drew years ago. (They were  favorites then for a reason.)

So above is the updated version of the illustration for the May page on my birthday calendar. I replaced the white embroidered top with a black embroidered blouse. I mostly wear black tops now, because I think it looks better with my chestnut hair (almost ginger really). The sunglasses broke, so I replaces them. Everything else I still use and wear, including one of my favorite vintage straw bags that I love for picnics. The clogs I actually never owned but still love and would like to wear.😉

So above is the updated version of the illustration for the April page on my birthday calendar. I replaced the stripes with an all black top (I’m over my stripey faze) and switched to a more practical backpack. I own many nice bags, but I almost never use them anymore because my backpack is just so much more comfortable and practical. I still love the denim skirt and my Converse All Stars.

April Favourites, Illustrated.

2021 04 April favorite things Mangomini

Things I Enjoyed Most In April, In Drawings.

Since it’s already the last day of April, it’s a good time for a look at some of my favorite things this month, in illustrated form of course.  I did a lot of hiking & picnicking, had a sunny kayak adventure and added lots of new little plants to my growing collection. This whole outfit is from Monki. The pants took such a long time to draw, but I do love them so it had to be done 😉 I also love that the t-shirt and tote bag are made from organic cotton and the packaging was completely plastic-free.

Other things that I still loved this month, but already included in my March favorites, are Ben Howard’s new album and live stream concert and cold water swimming.

If you like this you can follow me on Instagram and Pinterest for regular updates or shop my illustrated postcards and other papergoods on Etsy. Wishing you a happy & healthy month!💚

Are You A Tea Or A Coffee Person?

Hand drawn color illustrations of hot drinks, including coffee and tea.

What Gets You Energized On Mondays?

Happy Monday! Which one of these illustrated energizing drinks do you use to start your week full of energy? In other words, what is your Monday fuel? Is it on here? I’m a big tea lover. I drink tea every day, all day, green, white or herbal. Sometimes I will have a “baby coffee” (lots of milk and sugar) but it’s rare. Today I had a mix of latte macchiato, tea and a Coke and still I feel only half awake!😳 Not my most productive day ever… oh well.

If you’re a coffee lover, or a tea lover like me, you’re in luck, because I have several coffee- and tea-themed items available in my Etsy shop, including the coffee themed postcard below. You can also follow me on Instagram and Pinterest for regular updates.

Happy Plant A Flower Day!

Flower Power Drawer 😉

Maybe you’ve noticed that I’m drawing more and more plants and flowers. It’s because I’ve turned into to a real plant lady 😉. I have soooo many plants now and I’m constantly propagating more. And since my illustrations reflect my interests, it shows in my work.

Today happens to be Plant A Flower Day, and it’s the perfect day to plant some (more) flowers as we wait for spring to start.  I always choose a bee-friendly seed mix, because it means I will not only have colourful flowers to enjoy, but I’m also helping to save the bees! What will you be planting?

Retro Rainy Day Outfit, In Drawings.

Hand drawn watercolour illustration by Cindy Mangomini depicting playfully drawn women's fashion items to form an illustrated cold weather outfit.Vintage Vibes Fashion Drawing

My fashion mood today. Yep, it’s back to winter again. It’s cold and rainy and perfect weather to stay inside and work on my illustrations. Do you like the retro/vintage color combination of this fashion look? Wine red (bordeaux) is probably my favorite color to wear (besides black) and also my favorite color to drink at the moment.😉 Enjoy your day!

February Favourites, Illustrated.

What I Wore Most This February, In Drawings

Because it’s #meetthemaker month here is another entry for my hand drawn illustrated fashion diary, where I draw my personal fashion, food and overall favourites.

It was hard to sum up my February favourites in one drawing because we went from freezing cold and snow, to super sunny spring weather, back to freezing cold again the whole month. I’m not complaining because I loved the snow and I definitely enjoyed the first warm days. Kayak season is open! Picnic season as well, although that’s open all year for me. I also did a few more cold water dips in the river, Wim Hof style, and plan to do many more.

For this illustration I chose my “in between weather” favourites: Levi’s ribcage jeans, a cute bohemian shirt and my Ugg boots, that are perfect for quickly getting my feet warm after being in the cold water. Plus one of my favourite vintage bags and my favourite face mask.

I could also have included my mittens, beanie hat, bikini and sandals, because I also wore all of those several times last month. You might see them in a March recap. 😉

As you can tell, despite the lockdown and evening clock, I had a lot of fun in nature. In, on and near the water and picnicking and hiking. I hope March will bring more of the same.

Wishing you a happy & healthy month as well!💚

Hello March 2021! (In Drawings)

March Illustrated Calendar Page

Hello March! A new month, as always, means a new calendar page. This is the illustration from the March page on my 2021 wall calendar. I went for cute and comfy knitwear layers, paired with my favorite blue mom jeans and red Dr. Martens boots. I also added tea, chocolate and plants for extra coziness. And since we’re still in lockdown and we have an evening clock between 21h and 4:30 there’s a lot of time for reading books, creative projects and watching Netflix.

Does this match your plans or mood for the new month? We’ve had such a sunny week that this drawing feels very wintery now, but I know in many places it’s still very cold.

Tool Time

I started making this illustration of my favourite art supplies about two years ago and then, halfway through, completely forgot about it. Today I found it again and finally finished it! I initially started making this because I got a lot of questions about what products I use to make my illustrations. Often I get asked what apps I use. No apps, it’s al hand made! I mostly use products from Faber-Castell or Royal Talens.
