What I Wore, Then & Now, Part 2.

What I Wore (In Drawings) And How I Wear It Now. Part 2.

I thought it would be fun to take and older What I Wore drawing, and update it to how I wear it now. Because, believe it or not, I still own many of the pieces I drew years ago. (They were  favorites then for a reason.)

So above is the updated version of the illustration for the May page on my birthday calendar. I replaced the white embroidered top with a black embroidered blouse. I mostly wear black tops now, because I think it looks better with my chestnut hair (almost ginger really). The sunglasses broke, so I replaces them. Everything else I still use and wear, including one of my favorite vintage straw bags that I love for picnics. The clogs I actually never owned but still love and would like to wear.😉

So above is the updated version of the illustration for the April page on my birthday calendar. I replaced the stripes with an all black top (I’m over my stripey faze) and switched to a more practical backpack. I own many nice bags, but I almost never use them anymore because my backpack is just so much more comfortable and practical. I still love the denim skirt and my Converse All Stars.

April Favourites, Illustrated.

Things I Enjoyed Most In April, In Drawings.

Since it’s already the last day of April, it’s a good time for a look at some of my favorite things this month, in illustrated form of course.  I did a lot of hiking & picnicking, had a sunny kayak adventure and added lots of new little plants to my growing collection. This whole outfit is from Monki. The pants took such a long time to draw, but I do love them so it had to be done 😉 I also love that the t-shirt and tote bag are made from organic cotton and the packaging was completely plastic-free.

Other things that I still loved this month, but already included in my March favorites, are Ben Howard’s new album and live stream concert and cold water swimming.

Hello April! Happy April Mood In Drawings.

2021 Hello April Calendar Illustration Mangomini

Happy Spring Plans, Illustrated.

Happy first day of April! A new month means a new calendar page, even in this crazy time. This is from my 2020 Wall Calendar. As you can see I chose a happy, casual and pizza-loving theme 😉 When I was putting together my calendar I was doing a lot of home improvement projects (lockdown had just started) and it shows in this drawing. What are your plans for April?

February Favourites, Illustrated.

What I Wore Most This February, In Drawings

Because it’s #meetthemaker month here is another entry for my hand drawn illustrated fashion diary, where I draw my personal fashion, food and overall favourites.

It was hard to sum up my February favourites in one drawing because we went from freezing cold and snow, to super sunny spring weather, back to freezing cold again the whole month. I’m not complaining because I loved the snow and I definitely enjoyed the first warm days. Kayak season is open! Picnic season as well, although that’s open all year for me. I also did a few more cold water dips in the river, Wim Hof style, and plan to do many more.

For this illustration I chose my “in between weather” favourites: Levi’s ribcage jeans, a cute bohemian shirt and my Ugg boots, that are perfect for quickly getting my feet warm after being in the cold water. Plus one of my favourite vintage bags and my favourite face mask.

I could also have included my mittens, beanie hat, bikini and sandals, because I also wore all of those several times last month. You might see them in a March recap. 😉

As you can tell, despite the lockdown and evening clock, I had a lot of fun in nature. In, on and near the water and picnicking and hiking. I hope March will bring more of the same.

Wishing you a happy & healthy month as well!💚

Sunny February Days, Illustrated.

What I Wore In February, In Drawings.

I was working on several wintery illustrations and then it was suddenly spring! One of the things I love about freelance life is that I can be flexible with my hours. So today, to fully take advantage of the sunny weather, I took half the day off for a long hike and a sunset picnic. I do have to work late now, but since we have an evening clock at the moment, I don’t mind so much.🥖🍷

The illustration above is a recap of my day, as part of my ongoing illustrated fashion diary/what I wore series. When I do these I always like to look back at the same time from the previous year. Here‘s and example from February last year.

Almost Spring Mood, Illustrated.

What I Want To Wear, In Drawings.

This illustrations shows you my “almost spring mood”. An outfit that I want to wear, but can’t exactly, because it’s still too cold ánd I don’t actually own everything on here. The sweater, sneakers and tote bag I just really like.

How much longer exactly until spring ??💛😎

February, So Far, Illustrated.

My February Favorites, In Drawings.

Illustrated recap of my February so far. As you can see from this drawing, I have spring, and spring fashion & colors on my mind. In reality I’m mostly sticking to my trusty work uniform of blue jeans and black sweaters. I’m also becoming more and more of a plant lady and am currently trying to make sooooo many plant babies. (Let’s hope some of them survive!) In between illustration jobs I’m working on several home improvement projects. Stripping off old wallpaper and painting walls, to name just a few.

What To Wear When Spring Feels Like Autumn

Feels like autumn again-Mangomini

Cold Spring Weather Outfit, In Drawings

It has been so cold and wet the last couple of days that it feels like autumn again. I’ve even been forced back into socks and boots (which I had planned not to wear again until fall). But, if the weather reports are right, tomorrow will be sunny again…yay!
