Blue Monday Survival Tips, In Drawings.

2023 blue monday survival Cindy Mangomini

Ideas To Make Blue Monday A Happy Monday.

Today is Blue Monday, supposedly the most depressing day of the year. Since I often draw about self care, mental health and depression coping strategies I thought I’d give you some illustrated positive inspiration to make the most of Blue Monday.

In case you’re interested: for at home exercise I like Yoga With Adriene  Some of my favorite comedy podcasts are Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend and Tig & Cheryl: True Story. These always make me laugh.

If you want to treat yourself to something that will bring happiness all year: I still have a few 2023 wall calendars available on Etsy, now with a discount.

Are You A Tea Or A Coffee Person?

Hand drawn color illustrations of hot drinks, including coffee and tea.

What Gets You Energized On Mondays?

Happy Monday! Which one of these illustrated energizing drinks do you use to start your week full of energy? In other words, what is your Monday fuel? Is it on here? I’m a big tea lover. I drink tea every day, all day, green, white or herbal. Sometimes I will have a “baby coffee” (lots of milk and sugar) but it’s rare. Today I had a mix of latte macchiato, tea and a Coke and still I feel only half awake!😳 Not my most productive day ever… oh well.

If you’re a coffee lover, or a tea lover like me, you’re in luck, because I have several coffee- and tea-themed items available in my Etsy shop, including the coffee themed postcard below. You can also follow me on Instagram and Pinterest for regular updates.

Celebrate Little Things, In Drawings.

Celebrate Whatever You Can!

The Holidays are over but there’s no reason to stop celebrating small things. It’s been a tough year and we should be kind to ourselves. You survived 2020: well done! Put on pants today? That’s awesome! Checked in on a friend? You deserve extra karma points for that! Feel like you didn’t do anything worth celebrating today? Remember you are still awesome and it’s okay and normal to feel bad sometimes! 💚 Hopefully this drawing can serve as a little positive reminder. It was one of my best nine for 2020 on Instagram, and I updated it a little bit for 2021.

World Mental Health Day

Mental Health Plan, Illustrated.

Today is World Mental Health Day, always super important, but even more so in this crazy year. This illustration shows you some of the things that are part of my mental health/self care routine. It’s something that I, like so many others, always have to be aware of, especially during the autumn months. Know that there is help available and ask for it, if you need it. Take Care.💚💚

PS. Because of the many requests I now have this one available on a postcard on Etsy too. Pin in to your wall as a positive reminder or send it to someone who could use it.

Self Care Sunday, In Drawings.

Sunday is for Self Care!

Sundays are for self care!💚 This quick little drawing gives you some self care ideas for your Sundays. I do all of these things myself, and not only on Sunday.

I try to start my day with a little at home yoga session. I love Yoga with Adriene on YouTube, and also try to meditate or do breathing exercises every day. While I work I listen to music of podcasts and drink lots of tea. I go hiking almost every week and always make sure that I have some evenings to myself, to enjoy my favourite Netflix show or read a book. This illustration sums it all up. I hope you find it useful!

International Self Care Day, Illustrated.

Self Care Day Ideas, In Drawings.

Happy International Self Care Day! Self care has always been important, but this year I think we all can use some extra time to focus on things that make us feel more relaxed and happy. In this illustration I drew some of the things that are helpful to me. What do you like to do to give yourself some extra care?

Self Care Reminder

Update: I got a lot of requests to make my self care drawings available on Etsy. That’s why I now have Take Care and Mental Health Plan cards in my shop.

Ps. If you like my illustrations and want to stay up to date on any news about my work and any special offers, you can subscribe to my newsletter here. As a thank you, you will receive a 10% discount voucher for your next Etsy order.

Celebrate Whatever!

Happy Today! I often use special days or fun holidays as inspiration for my drawings, but you really don’t need a special day or achievement to celebrate. At the moment even ordinary things can feel like a real challenge, like putting on pants or going to the supermarket. So today, be kind to yourself and celebrate the small things. It’s a day and you’re still awesome! (Even if it sometimes doesn’t feel like that.)

Netflix and… Quarantine!

Another weekend stuck at home. I updated this one again with only things that are actually my quarantine favorites. Like playing online Scrabble, eating home made brownies for breakfast (sometimes!), too much pizza, plant babies everywhere and, of course, rosé wine. I hope you’re having a good weekend and staying safe! 💚

Quarantine Casual

2020 04 Quarantine casual Mangomini

At the end of every month I usually make an illustrated recap. This is March. I call it “quarantine casual”. As you can see I’ve been taking care of myself and keeping busy, but I also take time to relax and treat myself regularly. Full disclosure: in reality the tops on here are black. Stay safe! 💚
