Eat What You Want Day

Eat what you want day Mangomini

Today is Eat What You Want Day, and for me that looks something like this. These are some of my favorite foods that I could eat every day, and probably would if it wasn’t so unhealthy to do so. But this day was created to, for 1 day, just forget a little bit about being healthy all the time and treat yourself, even if your favorite foods aren’t the healthiest.

Lost Sock Memorial Day

Lost Sock Memorial Day Cindy Mangomini

Today is Lost Sock Memorial Day, a day to remember all the socks that went mysteriously missing. What Happened? Where did they go?⁣

I have this print framed above my washing machine and you can have it too, if you go to my Etsy shop 😉

Happy Whatever!

Celebrate whatever Mangomini

Celebrate Every Win, No Matter How Small

Happy Today! I often use special days or fun holidays as inspiration for my drawings, but you really don’t need a special day to celebrate. Find something to celebrate everyday, especially on Mondays, because they can be a little tough 😉 So, happy Monday! .. and let’s celebrate whatever!⁣

Happy King’s Day!

Nederland Mangomini low

Happy King’s day! Today we Dutchies celebrate our King’s birthday. That means: celebrating all day, preferably outside, and everything (including ourselves) in orange!
This is my “Nederland” postcard, with typical Dutch things on it. We may be a small country but there’s still a lot to love here and it’s usually very ‘gezellig’, especially on a day like today!

For my non-Dutch followers, some of the typical Dutch foods on here are (from top to bottom): hagelslag (chocolate sprinkles to eat on your bread, usually for breakfast), stroopwafel (waffle filled with caramel syrup), patatje met (French fries with mayonnaise), tompoes (a very sweet pastry) and drop (salty liquorice).

Card available in my Etsy shop, here.

Pajamas To Work!

Happy National Wear Your Pajamas To Work Day!

Today is National Pajamas To Work Day, which for me is really just a regular work day.  Because I work mostly from home, wearing pajames to work is never a problem 😉 In this illustration you can see some of the things that can usually be found in my work space. While working I like to listen to music or podcasts, although sometimes I like silence too. My favorite podcasts at the moment are Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, By The Book and Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness.

November favourites!

2018 november cold Mangomini.jpg

November is almost over, so time for an illustrated recap of what I wore most a.k.a. my November favourites. The last part of this month has been cold, so I’ve been keeping warm in some new (coat) but mostly old favourites.

It’s The Little Things In Life..

Favorite things right now Mangomini

Small Things That Are Making Me Happy, In Drawings Of Course.

A quick sketch of some of my favourite things right now. I’m trying to shop less but better. So less impulse buys and more things that I can enjoy for a long time. I’m also looking forward to 2 more Ben Howard concerts. Money spend on experiences is always money well spend, especially if it’s Ben Howard (in my opinion anyway!) While working from home I like to listen to podcasts to keep me company and informed. I recently discovered By the book and I’ve been binge-listening ever since.

PS. Nothing on here is sponsored, just things that I really like.

Low-waste swaps, part 2

Low waste swaps part2 Cindy Mangomini

As promised a while ago, here’s a small update on what I’m doing to live a more low-waste and minimal life. This past year I’ve slowly been using up all the products I already own and when I finish a product I first ask myself: do I really need it? If I feel I do, I try to look for a natural DIY recipe online. If that’s not available I try to buy a plastic free version of the product that I’m replacing. It’s not perfect and not always possible, but it feels good to try. I think if everyone tries a little, together we can achieve a lot. Hopefully another update soon!
