Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Today is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. That’s why I’m sharing another update about my journey towards low waste living, in illustrated form, of course. These are changes that I’ve personally made over the last few years to reduce my waste, especially plastic. It’s still not perfect by far but we all have to start somewhere. If everyone tries a little, together we can accomplish a lot!

It also doesn’t have to be expensive. I actually buy much less now. I’m using up all old products and replacing only what I need. When I do decide to buy something I try to find high quality products that are eco-friendly and/or fair-trade, that I can really enjoy for a long time. I also love to shop vintage.
What are you doing to reduce your waste? New ideas are always welcome! Stay safe, stay positive and go green! 💚

Zero Waste Bathroom Swaps

Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. What better day to think about some small changes we all can make to help save the planet?
This is part 4 in my zero/low waste series about the changes that I’ve personally made to help reduce my waste, especially plastic. This one is all about zero- or low waste bathroom swaps. I’m still not zero waste by far, but I’m constantly trying to improve. My absolute favorites are multi-purpose products like coconut oil, jojoba oil & aloe vera gel. I also like to mix more and more products myself. More tips and ideas are always welcome. Stay safe & stay positive! 💚

World Environment Day

Today is World Environment Day. The perfect day to share part 3 of my personal journey to a “low waste’ life. These are the changes that I have personally made. I completely understand that not every option is available to everyone. But even if you can only make a few of these changes, you can make a difference. And if everyone tries a little bit, together we can accomplish a lot! ⠀

In the illustration above I have combined (almost) all of the changes that I have made over the last year(s). Below you see part 1, 2 and 3 of my “journey to zero waste”. Starting with the latest one, Part 3.

Low-waste swaps, part 2

Low waste swaps part2 Cindy Mangomini

As promised a while ago, here’s a small update on what I’m doing to live a more low-waste and minimal life. This past year I’ve slowly been using up all the products I already own and when I finish a product I first ask myself: do I really need it? If I feel I do, I try to look for a natural DIY recipe online. If that’s not available I try to buy a plastic free version of the product that I’m replacing. It’s not perfect and not always possible, but it feels good to try. I think if everyone tries a little, together we can achieve a lot. Hopefully another update soon!
