Autumn Self-Care Tips to Boost Your Mood, In Drawings.

Fall Is Here: Time For A Little Autumn Self Care!

This one is for you if you tend to suffer from the autumn blues. Even though this season is known as the coziest season, it can also be easy to feel a bit down during this time. With the days getting darker and the weather colder (not to mention everything else going on in the world) it can be harder to stay positive.

Here, I illustrated, some of the things that help me during the darker days. I hope they will be helpful for you as well.

First of all, I try to stay active and get enough daylight and exercise. I love long autumn walks. I also do some at home yoga and weight lifting. If I’m staying inside I make an effort to cozy up my home as much as possible. I light candles and other warm lights, burn incense for a nice smell and listen (and sometimes dance) to my favorite music. Sometimes I’ll be working on a creative project, other times I love to relax with a book or a nice show or movie to watch.

Ideas To Make Blue Monday A Happy Monday.

Today is Blue Monday, supposedly the most depressing day of the year. Since I often draw about self care, mental health and depression coping strategies I thought I’d give you some illustrated positive inspiration to make the most of Blue Monday.

In case you’re interested: for at home exercise I like Yoga With AdrieneΒ  Some of my favorite comedy podcasts are Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend and Tig & Cheryl: True Story. These always make me laugh.

These are some of my favorite foods that I could eat every day, and probably would if it wasn’t so unhealthy to do so. As you can see a lot of cheese and chocolate plus of course French Fries with mayonnaise, I am Dutch and that’s the way we do it!

Self Care Sunday, In Drawings.

Sunday is for Self Care!

Sundays are for self care!πŸ’šβ  This quick little drawing gives you some self care ideas for your Sundays. I do all of these things myself, and not only on Sunday.

I try to start my day with a little at home yoga session. I love Yoga with Adriene on YouTube, and also try to meditate or do breathing exercises every day. While I work I listen to music of podcasts and drink lots of tea. I go hiking almost every week and always make sure that I have some evenings to myself, to enjoy my favourite Netflix show or read a book. This illustration sums it all up. I hope you find it useful!

Netflix and… Quarantine!

Another weekend stuck at home. I updated this one again with only things that are actually my quarantine favorites. Like playing online Scrabble, eating home made brownies for breakfast (sometimes!), too much pizza, plant babies everywhere and, of course, rosΓ© wine. Self-care in times of Corona virus. This is an updated version of my autumn/winter self-care card, because the virus is forcing us to do certain things a little bit differently. (I’ve never washed my hands so often and also realised that I love touching my face!) This week I’ve been feeling quite worried and sad but I’m going to take my own illustrated advice and use the extra time inside for some quality ‘me-time’.⁠
