Freezing January

2017-freezing-january-cindy-mangomini

These last weeks have been so cold that I was slowly turning into a sheep! My vintage shearling jacket, boots and mittens were the only clothes warm enough to keep me from freezing. Not a lot of room for fashion when temperatures drop below zero (at least not for me). Luckily I was so busy with illustration jobs that I could spend a lot of time inside with my thermos filled with tea right beside me.

Wearing: shearling jacket, wool cardigan and mittens, Vintage – jeans and tights, H&M – hat, Newyorker – boots, so old I don’t remember – thermos, Mizu.

Reading: The signature of All Things – Elizabeth Gilbert

Valley of the Dolls

Valley cover Neely - Cindy Mangomini

Today 50 years ago, Valley of the Dolls first came out. It became a best-seller and a classic almost instantly. To celebrate this 50th anniversary I was one of the artists asked by Sparknotes to design new cover art for the book.

I designed 1 cover for each of the main characters: Neely, Jennifer and Anne. To see all the designs just click here.

How To Dress Like A French Woman, In Drawings.

This is my second illustration inspired by How To Be Parisian (wherever you are). After finishing the book I felt like drawing another recap. I’ve also been practising my French for about a month now (Oui oui, très bien!) Like everyone else, I secretly want to be Parisian too! I even have a few French-themes items available on Etsy, like this Bonjour Postcard, for example.

Time for books and drinks

What I wore by MangominiAn after work drink with a friend, followed by some quiet reading time. I’ve just started reading “Perfume” (Kurt Cobain’s favorite book).
