I’ve had a lot of requests to bring back the illustrated how-tos for Hello Giggles. So here is a new one with Hillary Clinton Halloween costume ideas. I’ve got 90’s Hillary and 2016 Hillary. Whichever Hillary style you prefer, don’t forget to vote!
Bye bye Dutch summer, you were short but sweet. Hello Autumn! I look forward to autumn walks, Netflix nights, home made brownies, boardgames, books, dinner parties, warm socks and lots and lots of tea!
House Brooch by the lovely Aniek Schiepers on Etsy.
September so far: sunshine, some orange in my Dutch wardrobe, The Lumineers’ Cleopatra on repeat and finally reading The Catcher in the Rye.
I made this illustration for the launch of Oh! You Pretty Things Magazine. I was asked by the magazine’s editor in chief (and über-stylish fashion photographer) Youna Baupoux to illustrate my idea of typical Scandinavian style. Just click here to read the oh-so pretty magazine!
Summer means festival season and this was the first dry one this year, so no rubber boots this time! In stead, I could finally wear my new favorite summer dress and sandals 🙂
Wearing: dress, Zara – sunglasses, Newyorker – backpack, a gift so unknown – lipbalm, L’Oréal sexy balm – waterbottle, Dopper – mixed bracelets, Anna + Nina, A la and Etsy, sandals, Femme Plus
We’ve finally had a few lovely sunny days here! It was almost too hot to draw but I still managed to finished another calender page.
The Dutch summer so far: rain, rain and more rain. Excellent summer weather to stay inside, read, drink tea and have an occasional sunny cocktail.
This is actually not exactly what I’ve been wearing most at the moment. We’ve had nothing but rain for the last weeks. But yesterday was sunny and today is looking good so far, so I thought this would be a good time to share my “June’ illustration for my upcoming birthday calender (which has been a little bit delayed because of work on other projects, but it’s coming soon!)
Finally a few sunny days and even the first pick nicks of 2016! Also very happy with my new Marc Johns book.
Wearing: t-shirt, Alternative Apparel – bracelet, A la – small purse, Solmode – cap & jeans, H&M – sandals, Birkenstock – straw bag, vintage.
Book: The Daily Artist by Marc Johns.
Summer means festival season and these are my festival must-haves. This is an updated version of an illustrated how-to that I did for Hello Giggles in 2014. I’ve made it a little bit more ‘2016’.
As a regular festival-goer (In Europe) I recommend as absolute essentials: layering for when it gets colder in the evening, comfortable shoes or boots, SPF, dry shampoo, all-in-one wipes and a small rain poncho. If you have these basics covered you can go crazy with your festival accessories!
Take a look here for Festival Style 2019 or 2017 version. You can clearly see the changes but also that some are just festival classics that stay the same.
