This is actually not exactly what I’ve been wearing most at the moment. We’ve had nothing but rain for the last weeks. But yesterday was sunny and today is looking good so far, so I thought this would be a good time to share my “June’ illustration for my upcoming birthday calender (which has been a little bit delayed because of work on other projects, but it’s coming soon!)

Summer means festival season and these are my festival must-haves. This is an updated version of an illustrated how-to that I did for Hello Giggles in 2014. I’ve made it a little bit more ‘2016’.
As a regular festival-goer (In Europe) I recommend as absolute essentials: layering for when it gets colder in the evening, comfortable shoes or boots, SPF, dry shampoo, all-in-one wipes and a small rain poncho. If you have these basics covered you can go crazy with your festival accessories!
Take a look here for Festival Style 2019 or 2017 version. You can clearly see the changes but also that some are just festival classics that stay the same.

I’m longing for summer and this is what I want to be wearing to a lovely picnic in the park. But, no such luck with the Dutch spring. It’s more wool sweaters, extra socks and staying inside to escape the rain, wind and even snow! Luckily, I can always draw a sunny scene!
I just returned from a short but lovely camping trip to the beautiful Dutch island Schiermonnikoog. Since we had to carry our own luggage the whole journey it was definitely more of a camping than glamping experience, and this is basically what I wore the whole trip.
Wearing: fanny pack, The Sting – mixed bracelets, Ala and Anna+Nina – sunglasses, Sacha – bikinitop, H&M – flip flops, bought on holiday in Greece – shorts, vintage Levi’s – bikini bottom, Newyorker – Make up bag, Kruidvat – sleeping bag, Hema – top, Mango.
Another fun project for Sparknotes. I was asked to draw a series of summer (fashion) essentials. These are 2 of the 8 illustrations I drew. To see the complete slide show click here.

During the recent heatwave I had only 1 thing on my mind: how to stay (somewhat) cool! The workspace in my apartment got so hot that my bikini became my new work-uniform (one of the advantages of working from home!)
This is a drawing of my personal favorite things that are keeping me cool during the hot weather. If you like this you can follow me on Instagram and Pinterest for regular updates or shop my illustrated papergoods on Etsy.
Wearing: everything is this illustration is H&M, except for: “lucky” bracelet, Anna+Nina – vintage denim skirt – canvas tote from local bookstore – sunglasses, Sacha.

It’s been a while since I had time to work on this blog, but I’m back! We’re in the middle of a Dutch heatwave and I don’t mind spending some hours inside, hiding my pale skin from the sun.
My heatwave favorites are: black a-line top, H&M – big sunglasses, Sacha – scarf (to protect my head and hair) bought at a festival market -shorts, H&M – leather sandals bought on holiday in Greece – bikini bottom, Newyorker – bikini top, H&M – mixed bracelets from Ala, Anna+Nina and Etsy.
