An Illustrated Reminder: Today Is International Relaxation Day.

Take a Break: It’s International Relaxation Day

Today is International Relaxation Day, a special day dedicated to unwinding and taking a break from the busyness and pressures of daily life. I will be going for swim and a little picnic at my favorite shady spot (essential during this heatwave). I’ll bring a book, and probably some chilled rosé wine as well. As I write this, I’m enjoying the smell of my current favorite scented candle (Neroli & Basil). How are you relaxing today?

Summer Day Style 2024, In Drawings, Of Course.

The Things I Can’t Get Enough Of This Summer.

After many months of mostly rain, summer days are finally here…Yay! This is an illustration of some of my favorite items, that I wear and consume all the time. I love being on, in and near the water so my mismatched bikini is one of my most worn items. While I’m doing these water activities I usually bring food for a small picnic. This always includes a fresh baguette, a few cheeses and a bottle of rosé wine. I still adore this vintage picnic bag that I bought for almost nothing, years ago.

I hope you’re also enjoying the sunny weather! I will try to update here a little bit more often, but I can’t make any promises.😉

February Recap, in Drawings.

2024 02 February Recap Cindy Mangomini

Bye Bye February, An Illustrated Recap.

In February I spend more time indoors than usual. The weather was bad and there´s only so much hiking in the rain (and storm) that I can enjoy. So, this meant a lot of cozy time indoors, which I also enjoyed. Netflix nights, drinks and food with friends and quite a lot of cooking and baking, including pizza from scratch for the first time.😋🍕🍷 Now, let spring begin please!🤞

Illustrated February Mood.

This illustration sums up my February 2024 mood. I´m longing for spring and for picnic season to start. We’ve had a little bit of sunshine and my plants are showing signs of new leaves, so that makes me happy! I also just make the most of winter by cozying up inside and going for winter walks. I hope you’re also having a good month so far. See you soon!

January Recap, in Drawings.

Bye Bye January, An Illustrated Recap.

On the last day of January, it´s time to look back. My plan for this year is to end every month with an illustrated recap. (So far, so good😉)

January was very wet and cold. I loved the snowy days, I didn’t love getting the flu. I still went hiking every week but also spend more time inside. These were some of my favorite and/or most used things. As you can see most of them are related to staying warm & cozy.

January Mood, in Drawings.

Cute & Cozy Winter Mood, Illustrated.

Hello! I hope you’re having a good year so far. Here in The Netherlands it’s very cold with lots of snow at the moment, which I love very much. I love cosying up under my wool blanket, light candles, have a glass of red wine and enjoy the winter evenings with a good book or something nice to stream. This drawing sums up the cozy winter vibe I love.

This year, I plan to make more time for new illustrations, but I’m just recovering from the flu so already I’m behind on my schedule. But I will try to add more new stuff and post more regularly on here as well!

What I Wore, Then & Now, Part 7.

What I Wore (In Drawings) And How I Wear It Now. Part 7.

This is the seventh time I’ve taken an older What I Wore drawing, and updated it to how I wear it now. Because, believe it or not, I still own many of the pieces I drew years ago. They were favorites then for a reason!

Above is the updated version of the illustration for the November page on my birthday calendar. Below the original drawing.

I still own all of the clothing items on here, although I haven’t worn the cardigan and boots for a while. But I still love them and am keeping them for later. At the moment I’m wearing my cold-shoulder sweater a lot and when I’m not wearing sneakers I like a platform boot with a little bit of a block-heel.

Then there’s a coffee-confession: I love drawing coffee related items such as the peculator, but in reality at home I drink instant latte macchiato.😳 I’m not proud!

A few other new favorites, including my retro Casio watch and Hemp lip balm from The Body Shop. Which version do you prefer?

This is the sixth time I’ve taken an older What I Wore drawing, and updated it to how I wear it now. Because, believe it or not, I still own many of the pieces I drew years ago. They were favorites then for a reason!

Above is the updated version of the illustration for the September page on my birthday calendar. Below the original drawing.

I still love this dress and the bag. I’ve added my favorite sandals, added new (vintage) sunglasses, my favorite silver hoop earrings and added a few little cactus planst that are growing fast this summer. Small changes this time, but which version do you prefer?

What I Wore (In Drawings) And How I Wear It Now. Part 5.

This is the fifth time I’ve taken an older What I Wore drawing, and updated it to how I wear it now. Because, believe it or not, I still own many of the pieces I drew years ago. They were favorites then for a reason!

Above is the updated version of the illustration for the August page on my birthday calendar. Below the original drawing. I honesty still own all these items, I just haven’t worn the flip flops for a long time. So, what I updated here are mostly the accessories and the food & drinks that are my current favorites to bring to a summer picnic. Which version do you prefer?
